Snow & Weather Report

Update: Saturday, December 21, 6:13 a.m.

The first day of winter brings with it a bit of natural snow to start the day and great conditions for making snow through the weekend. Here's what to expect on the slopes today:

• FRONT FACE: Polar Bear Express and Cortina chairlifts, and the Stowe Beginner Bowl surface lift are open 8 a.m. - 9 p.m., servicing Wagner Slope, Philips Run, Fawn Lane, Arctic Blast (no features), Santa’s Beard (no features), Cortina Trail, Lower Stowe and Deer Pass.

• NORTH FACE: North Pole lift is open 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., servicing Lost Boy trail and The Alley terrain park with 20 S-L features.

The surface is groomed and topped with 2" of natural snow. Temps are currently at 21 degrees and will remain close to this mark throughout the day before dropping into the teens tonight. Sunday, temps will linger in the teens with a high of 20 and a low of 10 Sunday night.

Cold, dry air has arrived from Canada and the snowmaking team is hard at work to take advantage of the opportunity and expand terrain into the North Face. Snowmaking will operate as often as conditions allow and may take place on or near open terrain throughout the weekend. Be prepared and use caution near active snowmaking operations. We'll keep you updated on the team's progress as the weekend unfolds.

Have a great day on the slopes. We'll see you out there!
