An Evening with Ted Nugent

Sat, August 30, 2008 @ 7:30PM
Seven Springs Mountain Resort welcomes rock legend Ted Nugent Sat., Aug. 30, 2008, at Grey Rocks Amphitheatre.

Nugent originally gained fame as the lead guitarist of The Amboy Dukes before moving on to an extremely successful solo career in 1975. The Nuge or The Motor City Madman, as his fans affectionately refer to him, released more than 31 recordings, including hits like “Cat Scratch Fever” and “Stranglehold,” and has sold more than 35 million albums.

Nugent joined the rock super group Damn Yankees, joining former Night Ranger bassist/singer Jack Blades, former Styx guitarist/singer Tommy Shaw and drummer Michael Cartellone, resulting in the quartet's self-titled debut in 1990, which became a surprise hit due to their Top Ten power ballad, "High Enough."

Attracting attention for his outspoken statements on issues ranging from guns to biodiversity, Nugent has been a regular guest on such programs as “Larry King Live,” “The Howard Stern Show” and “Politically Incorrect.” In 2003, he was host of the VH1 reality television program called “Surviving Nugent” in which city dwellers moved to Nugent's Michigan ranch in order to survive such "backwoods" activities as building an outhouse and skinning a boar. The success of the two-hour show spawned a four-part miniseries in 2004 entitled “Surviving Nugent: The Ted Commandments,” filmed on Nugent's ranch in China Spring, Texas.
